McDowell Engineers and Associates has experience determining proper loading and springing of passenger cars and locomotives to allow proper weight and balancing. We have worked closely with other consulting engineering firms to conduct and manage field engineering activities for cant deficiency testing and ride quality testing.  We have also conducted air flow analysis on HVAC systems on passenger cars to determine proper air mixture rates. Recommendations provided allow for appropriate system adjustments, allowing improved passenger comfort during hot and humid summer days. We are able to conduct analysis on mechanical systems and components for both rail and non-rail applications.
